It's early in training camp, but Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes apparently has a new go-to target.
Obviously, the passing attack for the Chiefs will run through Travis Kelce, Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy. That being said, it sounds like rookie wideout Cyrus Allen is making a name for himself this summer.
According to Pete Sweeney of The Kansas City Star, the connection that Allen and Mahomes have at training camp is undeniable.
"Early in camp here with Rashee Rice not working team, Cyrus Allen has undoubtedly been Patrick Mahomes’ favorite target," Sweeney said. "It feels like he’s looking Allen’s way every time he’s out there."

There's one particular clip of Allen making a one-handed catch at Friday's practice that had fans in awe.
"I know Andy likes to bring rookie WRs along slowly but this kid has to play a lot of snaps year 1 he brings a diff element to our wr corp," one fan commented.
"We might have gotten a steal," a Chiefs fan said.
"Best part is he always gets up and finishes running into end zone. Total stud," another fan wrote.
Who is Cyrus Allen?
Allen, who started his college career at Louisiana Tech, was selected by the Chiefs with the 176th overall pick in this year's draft.
While at Louisiana Tech from 2021-2023, Allen had 68 catches for 1,278 yards and eight touchdowns. He then transferred to Texas A&M for the 2024 season and had 269 receiving yards.
In 2025, Allen rebuilt his draft stock with a strong season at Cincinnati. The 5-foot-11 wideout had 51 receptions for 674 yards and 13 touchdowns.
We'll see if Allen makes an impact for the Chiefs this fall.
