Patrick Mahomes' rehab appears to be going well.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback suffered a torn ACL and torn LCL in his left knee in an early December loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said earlier this month that the rehab process has been going well.
“First of all, he’s doing great for just being three weeks out or so,” Reid began. “He’ll go ahead and most likely stay up here for the majority of the time rehabbing. He and Julie (Frymyer), she’s the person who does all that RPT (rehab physical therapy), and so he has a lot of trust in her, and he’s been just in there grinding.
“I think they’ll just continue till we get started again. Not that he won’t take a break here or there, but right now, he’s in that early process where you’ve got to really hit it hard. And, you know, it’s not necessarily a fun thing to do every day. The important thing is that you show up, and that you keep coming, coming back for more, and he’s been doing that.”

Mahomes, who is dealing with the first truly significant injury of his career, appears to be handling rehab well.
The Chiefs quarterback announced an update on his rehab status on Thursday afternoon, January 15.
Mahomes' doctors holding him back
The Chiefs quarterback has been pushing so hard in rehab, doctors have had to hold him back.
"Patrick Mahomes says rehab is going great, doctors have to hold him back from wanting to push harder. He said his goal is to try to get ready for week 1 & play without restrictions. He said his doctors said it’s possible but a long way to go," Omar Ruiz shared.
The Chiefs quarterback is hoping to be back in time for Week 1 of the 2026 NFL season, wich is a lofty goal.
