The Carolina Panthers are getting set to kick off against the Cleveland Browns in Week 3.
Both of these teams are looking to keep positive momentum going after big wins in Week 2. The Panthers, in particular, looked dominant in Week 2, and with the NFC South struggling as a whole, a Week 3 win would put them in a great spot.
Unfortunately, the Panthers are far from completely healthy. We found out on Friday that star linebacker Devin Lloyd and starting safety Nick Scott would miss this contest. Then, on Saturday, we found out that the Panthers were putting Claudin Cherelus on injured reserve.
The injury report had several names on it this week, so who’s officially out this week? Let’s look at the inactives.
Panthers Week 3 Inactives
The following players will be inactive:
- LB Devin Lloyd (calf)
- WR Xavier Legette (knee)
- S Nick Scott (rib)
- TE Ja’Tavion Sanders
- QB Haynes King
- OL Albert Reese
- DT Cam Jackson
This means that Jalen Coker is playing. That’s a huge relief because it was starting to look like the breakout star might miss it. Coker has been dealing with an ankle injury off and on this season.
Legette is the other receiver who was questionable, and he will not be able to play. As a result, veteran David Moore will be active and could get some targets today. Coker, Legette, and Tetairoa McMillan have taken all the receiver targets so far this season.
Scott being out isn’t surprising. The team signed Isaiah Simmons from the practice squad earlier this week, and he, Lathan Ransom, and Zakee Wheatley should all see the field with Scott out.
King and Reese have been inactive each week. Jackson was inactive in Week 1, but he played in Week 2. The entire defensive line has been a problem, but with Bobby Brown III back, Jackson has no spot.
