The Carolina Panthers have a big opportunity in front of them. The team is sitting at 3-2 and in first place in the NFC South.
The team is in good shape to repeat as division champs, but that doesn’t mean the roster is perfect. Tetairoa McMillan and Jalen Coker have proved to be an awesome one-two punch at receiver, but there’s not much to get excited about behind them.
The hope was that Chris Brazzell could fill that role, but he’s out for the season. Xavier Legette had some flashes, but he’s also down with an injury. As a result, the team could be looking to add a receiver ahead of the deadline.
If that’s the case, there’s another NFC contender who has a perfect trade candidate.
Jauan Jennings Fits Panthers Better Than Vikings

The Vikings signed Jauan Jennings this offseason. The thinking was that the Vikings would have one of the best receiver trios in the league with Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and Jennings.
Instead, the Vikings’ passing offense has been anemic. The team is somehow 5-0, but it’s no thanks to the offense. Not only is Jennings not producing, but he actually has fewer yards than Tai Felton, Jeshaun Jones, and Myles Price. For whatever reason, Jennings just isn’t being utilized.
The Panthers should take advantage of this situation and get Jennings to Charlotte. Mark Livingston of Panthers OnSi thinks Jennings is one of the best available trade targets for the Panthers.
“I still wouldn’t mind adding Jennings,” says Livingston. “He’s physical, he’ll block and he’s shown he can be productive when he’s given opportunities. Jennings had 975 receiving yards in 2024 and nine touchdowns last season in San Francisco, but he has just two catches through four games with Minnesota this year.”
As Livingston mentioned, Jennings was very productive before this season. The receiver had at least 600 yards and six touchdowns in 2024 and 2025, so he’s capable of handling a larger role.
Plus, as Livingston mentioned, Jennings would be perfect injury insurance. Right now, if either McMillan or Coker go down, the Panthers would have to rely on John Metchie III or Brycen Tremayne.
