Paige Spiranac is speaking out on social media.
The popular golf influencer, who played collegiately at the University of Arizona and San Diego State, made it clear on X, formerly known as Twitter, that she has one biggest pet peeve when it comes to people in public.
Spiranac, who has more social media followers than just about everyone in golf outside of Tiger Woods, is calling for "jail time" for anyone who is using FaceTime at max volume in public. That goes for anyone on speaker phone in public, too.
"Talking to someone on FT at max volume in public deserves jail time," she wrote on X.
Few things in public, if any, are more annoying than the loud person on the phone. Trust us, you do not need to be talking that loud. And, have some common decency and put some headphones in if you're going to be on FaceTime.
Speaker phone in public is never acceptable.
Golf fans are in agreement on Spiranac's declaration
"Totally agree," one said.
"That's a great idea," one added.
"Cells right next to the people that play their music without headphones," another fan added.
"Amen. Any phone call on speaker should be punishable by jail and hard labor," one fan added.
"Some guy at the airport the other day was just yapping away on speakerphone like it was his own personal office. Very annoying. The worst was a guy doing a Zoom call in the middle of the admiral club with no AirPods," one fan added.
"Amen! It’s infuriating — especially in a restaurant and the nail salon," one fan added.
"I agree! Nothing more annoying the to have to put up with someone else's conversation," one fan added.
Spiranac clearly has a lot of support with this issue, though an official law is unlikely.
