Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings entered the WNBA break on a four-game winning streak, jumping to 24-16 on the 2026 season after a 97-71 win over Aaliyah Edwards and the Connecticut Sun on Sunday. Now, the Wings will have to wait until Sept. 17 for their next matchup, hosting Dearica Hamby and the Los Angeles Sparks.
Bueckers has been arguably one of the best players in the WNBA during her second season in Dallas. The former UConn guard is averaging 20.5 points, 4.1 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game. And her play has been good enough to earn a spot on Team USA for the upcoming 2026 FIBA World Cup in Berlin, Germany.
Joining Bueckers on Team USA are 11 other stars from the WNBA, including Atlanta Dream forward Angel Reese and New York Liberty forward Breanna Stewart, along with Indiana Fever stars Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston.

Bueckers has become familiar with Clark and Boston’s game, facing the Fever duo three times during the 2026 season, with the Wings securing a 1-2 record. She also got to play with the Indiana stars in February, when Team USA competed during the 2026 FIBA World Cup qualifying tournament in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Ahead of Team USA’s World Cup opener on Friday against China, Bueckers spoke on playing with Clark and Boston once again. And the Wings guard had nothing but praise for her two Team USA teammates, pointing out their strengths on the court.
“Honestly, we have great on-court chemistry,” Bueckers said. “It’s kinda natural and organic. It’s been a while since we played together, almost like no time has passed. Obviously, with Caitlin, you want to run the floor, be a great wing, be a great cutter, move off the ball…
“And then with AB, she’s an amazing screener, amazing defender. She does a lot of things well, so she makes it easy for us guards. Screening really well, rolling really well. And she’s expanded her game to the 3-point line. So playing with both of those weapons offensively, defensively, they make it really easy.”
Team USA will go up against China on Friday at 8:15 a.m. ET.
