Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever looked to improve their winning streak to six on Thursday night, hitting the road to face Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings. The Fever entered the matchup with a 24-12 record, coming off a win over the Toronto Tempo, while the Wings came in at 20-16.
With just over minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, Indiana forward Makayla Timpson grabbed a defensive rebound off of a missed Bueckers 2-pointer, before passing the ball to Clark. As Clark dribbled down the court, she found herself in a one-on-one situation with the Dallas guard.
However, Bueckers was called for a personal foul as Clark was getting past her. But the former UConn star didn’t appear to like the call, claiming that Clark had pushed off.

Bueckers ended up receiving a technical foul after exchanging words with the official. And the Wings guard can now expect a $500 fine from the WNBA coming her way.
In the WNBA, under the new CBA reached during the offseason, players are fined $500 for each of their first three technical fouls. Technicals four through seven carry a $1,000 fine each, with the league issuing a warning letter after a player’s fifth. Beginning with a player’s eighth technical, each one results in a $1,500 fine, and the player is suspended for one game after every other technical (Nos. 8, 10, 12 and so on).
The technical against the Fever marked just the second of the year for Bueckers. The first came back on May 22 in the third quarter against the Atlanta Dream. However, the technical was rescinded.

Clark, on the other hand, has picked up a WNBA-leading eight technical fouls in 2026, but she dodged a suspension after her last one on August 8 against the Chicago Sky was rescinded as well.
Following Thursday’s game, the Fever will be back in action on Saturday, facing the New York Liberty on the road. Meanwhile, the Wings will get a few days off before facing the Seattle Storm on Sunday.
