Micah Parsons saw his first season with the Green Bay Packers cut short in 2025 as the team went 9-7-1 and lost to the Chicago Bears in the wild-card round. Parsons was forced to watch from the sidelines after suffering a season-ending torn ACL in Week 15.
Despite missing the playoffs and the final three regular-season games, Parsons produced at a high level. In 14 games, the former Penn State Nittany Lion recorded 41 tackles, 12.5 sacks, 12 tackles for loss and 48 pressures.
While he prepares to return during the 2026 season, Green Bay's pass-rushing unit will look different. The Packers traded EDGE Rashan Gary to the Dallas Cowboys, while EDGE Kingsley Enagbare signed with the New York Jets in free agency.

To bolster the group, Bleacher Report's Moe Moton urges the Packers to trade for New York Giants pass rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux.
"Green Bay can make a move for Kayvon Thibodeaux with the intention of pairing him with Parsons for the long term," Moton wrote. "It's a risky move given the four-year pro's inconsistent production, but he could benefit from lining up across an elite pass-rusher."
Thibodeaux was selected by the Giants with the No. 5 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. The former Oregon Duck made an immediate impact, earning fourth place in Defensive Rookie of the Year voting. He followed things up by recording 11.5 sacks in 2023, which still stands as a career-high.
However, he struggled in 2025. He recorded just 25 tackles, 2.5 sacks, five tackles for loss and 11 pressures in 10 starts. At 25 years old, though, Moton suggests the pass rusher could be acquired for just a Day 2 pick.
He also wouldn't be a long-term commitment. Thibodeaux is set to play the 2026 season under a fifth-year option, earning $14.7 million. If he doesn't pan out, Green Bay could let him walk in free agency after just one season.
While Parsons works toward returning as early as possible, acquiring an experienced pass rusher could immediately strengthen Green Bay's front seven.
