The Green Bay Packers have received an update on Josh Jacobs’ arrest from this past May.
It was reported that the authorities in Wisconsin detained Jacobs on five charges, including felony strangulation. He was also booked on misdemeanor counts of assault, criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct and intimidation of a victim.
“We remain confident that, once all of the evidence is gathered and evaluated, it will confirm that no charges should be brought against Josh in the future,” Jacobs’ attorneys said at the time.
While the Pro Bowl running back is still facing charges, they’ve been seriously reduced. According to multiple reports, the Brown County District Attorney’s Office has charged Jacobs with two misdemeanors.
“Originally booked on five charges, including felony strangulation, Jacobs now faces reduced charges of misdemeanor battery and criminal damage to property,” NFL insider Tom Pelissero said. “The NFL has been monitoring all developments in the matter, which remains under review.

What’s the latest on Josh Jacobs’ Week 1 status?
Since joining the Packers in 2024, Jacobs has rushed for 2,258 yards and 28 touchdowns on 535 attempts. He’s done an excellent job keeping Matt LaFleur’s offense balanced with the run and pass.
As of now, Jacobs is in line to suit up for the Packers. They’ll need him out there if they want to compete for an NFC North title.
If Jacobs misses time due to suspension, MarShawn Lloyd would get the first-team reps at running back.
