The Green Bay Packers‘ offense was looking to bounce back in a big way following their loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 1 of the NFL preseason. Pittsburgh’s defense limited Green Bay to just nine points, while the running and passing games struggled to carve out consistent drives.
That trend didn’t show in Week 2 of the preseason, though, as the Packers’ quarterback room led the way in a 33-13 win over the Denver Broncos on Friday night. Each of the team’s three quarterbacks, Jordan Love, Tyrod Taylor and Kyle McCord, suited up, providing notable reps during their allotted time under center.
Let’s review each quarterback’s performance during the win over Denver, with outlook for the remainder of the offseason:
Jordan Love’s Stellar Start

Love led the way in the Packers’ Week 2 matchup, commanding a touchdown drive on the offense’s first look of the day. He completed five of his seven pass attempts for 56 yards, capping off the drive with a short touchdown pass to running back MarShawn Lloyd. The veteran starter looked very comfortable as he ramps up his efforts coming into a highly anticipated 2026 campaign, looking to build on a highly efficient performance in 2025. He’ll likely carve out another drive or two during the team’s preseason finale against the Arizona Cardinals, giving Matt LaFleur and staff one final look prior to the season opener against the Minnesota Vikings.
Tyrod Taylor Carries Momentum

The Packers brought in veteran signal-caller Tyrod Taylor to fill the void left by Malik Willis, who inked a deal in free agency to become the starter for the Miami Dolphins. Looking to instill confidence at the QB2 spot, Taylor gave the Packers a great look in limited action against the Broncos. He completed half of his eight pass attempts, throwing for 17 yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Taylor added two carries for seven yards, continuing to build on a strong offseason showing.
Kyle McCord Continues To Build Confidence
Young quarterback prospect Kyle McCord continued a strong performance in just his second NFL season, flashing notable potential in LaFleur’s system. Earlier in the offseason, McCord beat out UDFA Kyron Drones for the QB3 spot, carving out another respectable performance against Denver. He completed 12 of his 19 pass attempts for 118 yards, commanding scoring drives on three of his four looks over the final two-and-a-half quarters. If he can continue to build on this momentum, he could cement his case as the team’s long-term option at QB2.
