The Baltimore Orioles adjusted their pitching plans ahead of a key American League East series against the Boston Red Sox, pushing Kyle Bradish's next start back one day.
Instead of taking the ball on Monday, Bradish is now scheduled to start on Tuesday. Left-hander Shane Baz will open the three-game series, giving Bradish an extra day of rest following the All-Star break.
The change also means Tuesday will mark Bradish's first start since signing his five-year, $90 million contract extension, a deal that keeps the right-hander in Baltimore through the 2031 season and solidifies him as a cornerstone of the Orioles' rotation.
Bradish has rewarded Baltimore's confidence throughout the 2026 season. The 29-year-old enters his next outing with a 6-9 record, a 3.61 ERA, 106 strikeouts and a 1.35 WHIP across 107.1 innings in 19 starts after returning from Tommy John surgery.
He heads into Tuesday's assignment coming off one of his best performances of the year. In his final start before agreeing to the extension, Bradish carried a no-hit bid into the seventh inning against the Kansas City Royals before finishing with 6.2 innings of one-run baseball.

The Orioles enter the series riding a six-game winning streak despite sitting fourth in the AL East with a 48-51 record. With the Red Sox directly ahead of them in the standings, every game carries added importance as Baltimore attempts to climb back into the postseason race.
While the rotation adjustment is minor, it gives Bradish additional recovery time before making his first appearance under his new long-term contract. The Orioles will hope their ace can continue his strong form as they open a pivotal divisional series.
