Baltimore Orioles fans are fed up.
A few years ago, the Orioles were seen as arguably the Major League Baseball team with the brightest future. They had a promising crop of young players, like Gunnar Henderson, Jackson Holliday, Adley Rutschman, Coby Mayo, etc.
But, fast forward to 2026, and the Orioles are sellers, with little hope for the future at this point.
On Monday, the O's finalized a trade, sending Rutschman, the former No. 1 overall pick in the MLB Draft, to the Boston Red Sox.
Mike Elias, who is in his eighth season leading the Baltimore franchise, is getting ripped apart by Orioles fans on Monday.
Fans are fed up with Mike Elias' performance
"Mike Elias has operated eight deadlines as Orioles GM. He has sold six of the eight times. Two of those six selloffs have come with the Orioles within a few games of a playoff spot — first in 2022, now in 2026," Jacob Calvin Meyer shared.
"Sounds like ground for termination of his position," one fan added.
"A serious franchise would’ve stopped this charade a long time ago, but we are not a serious franchise," one fan added.
"But ownership ‘has his back’… apparently. The Os are so lame. Thought it was turning around a couple years ago… thanks Universe for proving me wrong yet again!" one fan added.
"It is almost unfathomable that four years to the day after Mike Elias' liftoff comment that the O's are on the verge of trading the face of the rebuild and have yet to win a playoff game in that span," one fan added.
"I seriously won’t watch another Orioles game until Mike Elias is fired if we trade Adley in division," one fan added.
Orioles fans are upset - and understandably so right now.
