No. 20 Oregon will open its Big Ten portion of the 2026 college football season against No. 12 USC without one of quarterback Dante Moore’s most productive targets.
Head coach Dan Lanning revealed on Monday that wide receiver Jeremiah McClellan broke his foot during pregame warmups before Oregon’s 84-0 victory over Portland State.
McClellan, who has the third-most receiving yards among Ducks this season, will miss an undisclosed amount of time.
“J-Mac’s going to be down for a little bit of time,” Lanning said. “Broke his foot there in pregame, kind of a weird deal, and fortunately, he’s a tough guy, and certainly somebody that we relied on and will rely on in the future. So, it’s just a matter of when we can be able to get him back.”
McClellan warmed up in full uniform Friday before appearing on the sideline in street clothes with a walking boot and crutches.
Lanning said after the win over Portland State that McClellan “got tweaked” during pregame and needed further evaluation.
“Yeah, you know, got tweaked in pregame,” Lanning said. “Have to get an evaluation to see what exactly what that looks like. I don’t know right now at this moment.”
The injury removes a weapon after McClellan opened his third Oregon season with seven receptions for 170 yards and one touchdown through two games. He hauled in six catches for a career-high 150 yards and a score against Boise State.

Oregon received better news elsewhere on its injury report. Lanning confirmed both Kendre Harrison and Jamari Johnson should be available in Week 4.
“Feel good about Kendre and Jamari was out there today,” Lanning said. “Both those guys, I think, will get more and more reps throughout practice as we go throughout the week, and should have availability.”

Lanning added that cornerback Carl Williams IV “should be back” this week. Receiver Jalen Lott has also resumed practicing, but Lanning said he does not know whether Lott will play against USC.
Oregon travels to face No. 12 USC at the LA Memorial Coliseum on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET.
