Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks ended the 2025 season on a sour note. After going 11-1 in the regular season, Oregon secured the No. 5 seed in the College Football Playoff. However, they fell short of a national championship, losing to the Indiana Hoosiers in the Peach Bowl.

Once the season wrapped up, it allowed Lanning and his staff to put extra focus into high school recruiting. Oregon's 2027 recruiting class continues to improve. With five commitments, the group ranks fourth in the Big Ten and 17th nationally. While Lanning has already landed a handful of solid pieces, he's far from finished.

Offensive tackle Kennedy Brown wrapped up his junior season at Kingwood High School in Houston. The 6-foot-3.5, 285-pound pass protector has emerged as a highly sought-after player, holding offers from Oregon and the Texas A&M Aggies, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Alabama Crimson Tide and Clemson Tigers.

Rivals Industry Rankings places him as a five-star recruit, the No. 2 offensive tackle and the No. 4 player in the nation. Oregon has made a strong impression, with Brown previously mentioning his strong relationship with graduate assistant A'lique Terry.

However, on Thursday, Rivals' national recruiting analyst Steve Spiegelman revealed a prediction for Brown to commit to Texas A&M.

"Texas A&M and Oregon have started to create some distance at the top of Brown’s recruitment. … The blue-chipper has logged 10 visits to College Station, including another needle-moving trip in January. He’ll return this spring and June 5 for an official visit," Spiegelman wrote. "Texas A&M is going to do everything in its power to make it very difficult for Brown to leave the state."

While no official decision has been made, it's clear the Ducks are beginning to slip behind. To stay in contention, bringing Brown to Eugene for an official visit is essential.
