The Oregon Ducks have seen a good amount of success under head coach Dan Lanning. Taking over in 2022, he's gone 48-8 and 4-2 in College Football Playoff/bowl games. In 2024, the Ducks also brought home a Big Ten title.
While stringing together four straight double-digit win seasons, Lanning has also been successful off the field. When it comes to high school recruiting, he's gained a reputation as one of the best in college football.
Oregon's 2027 cycle is off to a strong start with six commitments. While the group ranks ninth in the nation, the Ducks are still looking to land a quarterback. However, they're one of the final teams alive for Andre Adams out of Nashville, Tennessee.

At 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds, Adams is a four-star recruit, the No. 15 quarterback and No. 165 player in the nation, per Rivals Industry Rankings. As a junior at Antioch High School, he completed 174-of-245 passes for 3,418 yards, 35 touchdowns and one interception. He also rushed for 855 yards and 13 touchdowns.
He's set to make his commitment decision on April 11. Oregon, along with the Kentucky Wildcats, Virginia Tech Hokies, Colorado Buffaloes, Florida State Seminoles and Mississippi State Bulldogs, are his six finalists.
Oregon got the opportunity to host the quarterback for an unofficial visit on March 13. Despite making the long trip to Eugene, Rivals' Nick Roush predicts Adams will commit to Kentucky. He's been correct on 77.92% of his 77 all-time predictions.
Kentucky is in a similar situation as the Ducks, still looking to land a quarterback in the 2027 recruiting class. However, their group as a whole is far behind Oregon's, ranking 44th in the nation and 12th in the SEC, with five commitments.
With Adams' commitment announcement just over a week away, Oregon will be waiting closely. His decision may shape how Lanning and his staff maneuver the recruiting trail.
