Devon Levi delivered a strong performance in his Edmonton Oilers home debut, helping the team secure a 3-1 win over the Seattle Kraken.
Levi stopped 19 of 20 shots at Rogers Place to earn his second win with Edmonton. After the game, he spoke with reporter Gene Principe about the experience.
“Being in Edmonton, having this jersey on is super special,” Levi said. “Being with this group, unbelievable group, amazing fans, it’s all you can ask for.”
The 24-year-old NHL goaltender looked much more comfortable after allowing seven goals in Edmonton’s win over the Vancouver Canucks in his first regular-season game for the Oilers.
His biggest moment came in the third period when Levi made an outstanding save on Jordan Eberle. The play went through video review before officials confirmed the puck stayed out of the net.
Levi credited his preparation for helping him handle the pressure.
“It’s just those little details, those little habits that you can fall back on in-game,” Levi said. “You put in the work and you did what you needed to.”
The Oilers acquired Levi from the Buffalo Sabres during the offseason. Edmonton sent Buffalo a 2028 third-round pick and received Levi along with a 2028 seventh-round pick.
The Oilers hope Levi can provide stability alongside Tristan Jarry throughout the season.
Saturday’s victory also gave Edmonton a 2-0-1 record through three games. Connor McDavid recorded a goal and an assist, while Leon Draisaitl scored the go-ahead goal late in regulation.

Levi said he is enjoying his early experience with the Oilers but remains focused on staying consistent.
“It’s been great, man, but we’re taking it one day at a time,” Levi said. “Can’t get too high, not gonna get too low after the losses.”
For Levi, his home debut provided an early glimpse of what he can bring to Edmonton’s crease.
