The Associated Press released its preseason Top 25 poll on Monday afternoon. Ohio State, which was ranked No. 1 overall in the Coaches' Poll, comes in at No. 1 in the AP Poll, too. The Buckeyes bring back Julian Sayin, Jeremiah Smith and a loaded roster.
Oregon, Georgia, Notre Dame and Texas round out the top five. Meanwhile, Indiana, Miami, Texas A&M, Ole Miss and Oklahoma fill out spots No. 6 through No. 10.
LSU is No. 11, followed by Texas Tech, Alabama, BYU, USC, Michigan, Washington, Penn State, SMU and Tennessee at No. 20. Utah, Iowa, Houston, Louisville and Missouri round out spots No. 21 through No. 25.
Ohio State, though, will open the regular season as the sport's top dog. Can the Buckeyes run the table?

Only two other teams in AP Poll history have started the season at No. 1 overall, held that spot throughout the year and won the national championship, finishing in the top overall spot.
The Buckeyes will look to be the third.
Ohio State will look to become historic team
Former AP college football reporter Ralph D. Russo shared that only 1999 Florida State and 2004 USC ran the table from No. 1 overall in the preseason, to No. 1 in the regular season to No. 1 at the end of the postseason.
Ohio State will look to become the third team in AP Poll history to do that this year. The Buckeyes are certainly talented enough to do it.
But can the Buckeyes do it?
