Smith now has 207 receptions for 3,381 yards and 36 touchdowns through 34 career games. His 207 catches moved him past Emeka Egbuka’s Ohio State record of 205, while his 36 receiving touchdowns surpassed Chris Olave’s mark of 35.
The junior didn’t realize how productive his afternoon had been until seeing the numbers.
“I was surprised I had 200 yards; I didn’t know I had that much,” Smith said after receiving a seeing the stat sheet showing his 11 catches and 206 yards.“

Smith helped Ohio State win the national championship as a freshman in 2024 before the Buckeyes fell short of repeating in 2025. The wide receiver didn’t finish among last year’s Heisman Trophy finalists, either.
