The Ohio State Buckeyes are already off to a hot start in the 2028 recruiting class. They've landed commitments from four-star defensive lineman Jameer Whyce and four-star running back Elijah Newman-Hall.
However, their biggest addition may be yet to come. Since taking over as head coach, Ryan Day has continued a strong tradition of elite high school recruiting. He has helped the Buckeyes secure seven straight top-10 cycles from 2020 to 2026.
Landing some of the top players in each class has been key to Ohio State's success. While the recruiting process is still just picking up for 2028 prospects, the Buckeyes are trending toward a major addition.

On Wednesday, Rivals' vice president of recruiting and transfer portal, Steve Wiltfong, logged an expert prediction for the Buckeyes to land wide receiver Jett Harrison. He has been correct in 91.86% of his 1,351 predictions.
At 6-foot-1 and 175 pounds, the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native is a five-star recruit and the No. 1 player in the nation, according to Rivals Industry Rankings. According to Charles Power, he hauled in 15 touchdowns as a sophomore at St. Joseph's Prep School.
While Ohio State has a tradition of landing top-tier wide receivers, Harrison already had a strong connection to the program. He is the younger brother of Buckeyes legend Marvin Harrison Jr, who finished fourth in Heisman voting in 2023.
It's not as though Day and his staff are the only ones pursuing the pass catcher, either. He also holds offers from the Penn State Nittany Lions, Tennessee Volunteers, Oregon Ducks and Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The Syracuse Orange, his father Marvin Harrison's alma mater, has also extended an offer.
Barring a change, though, Harrison is trending toward following in his brother's footsteps with Ohio State.
