Ryan Day and his staff have already received nine commitments in the 2027 recruiting class, ranking first in the nation. After failing to repeat as national champions, the Ohio State Buckeyes have hit the recruiting trail hard.
One of the headliners in that group is wide receiver Jamier Brown out of Wayne, Ohio. In his junior season at Wayne High School, he racked up 73 receptions for 1,009 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also rushed for 83 yards and two touchdowns. The wide receiver earned first-team honors as a MaxPreps Junior All-American.
Along with his production, Brown is a five-star recruit, the No. 3 wide receiver and the No. 12 player in the nation, per Rivals Industry Rankings. At 5-foot-11 and 185 pounds, he's been pledged to the Buckeyes since Nov. 23, 2024.

However, Ohio State is still facing competition from several other top programs. Rivals' Greg Smith noted that the Miami Hurricanes and the Oregon Ducks are two teams in search of a flip.
"Brown is the next big thing at wide receiver for Ohio State," Smith wrote. "But with that will come speculation that he’s looking at other schools even though he’s committed to the Buckeyes… Miami and Oregon are not going away. They’ll continue trying to chip away at the commitment. The real test will be if he visits either campus again."
Ohio State has had trouble with losing players in past recruiting cycles. Day and his staff had five players flip their commitments in the 2026 class. That included four-star wide receiver Kayden Dixon-Wyatt.
The Buckeyes will need to hold firm if they want to keep Brown's commitment, as top programs, including another within the Big Ten, continue to court the wide receiver.
