Odell Beckham Jr. might be nearing the end of his NFL career, but he’s not ready to hang up his cleats just yet.
A little over a week ago, the New York Giants released Beckham despite all the hype surrounding their reunion. He only logged 20 snaps for the G-Men and was targeted just once while on the field.
“Had a great conversation with Odell and it’s tough,” Giants coach John Harbaugh said. “But we just weren’t getting enough. It just wasn’t working for us. And like I told him, I wanted to be able to get more. I wanted him to be able to do more. I wanted to get him on the field more. Whatever reason, we weren’t able to do it. Put it on us. We weren’t able to get it done. At this point in time, that’s kind of where we were and we needed to move on.”
So what’s next for the former All-Pro? According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the Minnesota Vikings are signing Beckham ahead of their Week 5 matchup against the New Orleans Saints.
Beckham, who has 575 career receptions for 7,987 yards and 59 touchdowns, has not yet commented on his reported deal with the Vikings.

What does this mean for the Vikings?
The Vikings are hoping to have Justin Jefferson back on the field as early as this weekend, but Kevin O’Connell isn’t ready to make any promises.
“He kind of got a lot of the initial soreness and things out last week, and see what he’s able to kind of handle from a practice standpoint leading into Sunday, but don’t know exactly where he’s gonna be at,” O’Connell said. “We have the bye next week.”
If Jefferson is out for Week 5, the Vikings may consider using Beckham in a minor role. For now, their passing attack will be led by Jordan Addison and T.J. Hockenson.
