New York is ready for today's Knicks championship parade.
The parade, which is being held on Thursday afternoon, June 18, is expected to be quite the show in New York City. Millions of New Yorkers and Knicks fans are expected to attend. Thousands of New York City police officers will be in attendance, too.
In fact, more than 10,000 NYPD officers are expected to be deployed for this afternoon's Knicks championship parade.
"There will be performances, there will be New Yorkers, there will be the team and there will be history," New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani said Monday.
The parade is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. E.T. near Battery Park. The parade will make its way up through the Canyon of Heroes, before ending at City Hall, where there will be speeches from Knicks players.

Alicia Keys is set to perform at the championship parade, too.
But New York City is preaching safety, as well. New York City does not want any inappropriate behavior.
"We want people to enjoy this moment," New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch said. "But public safety comes first."
Fans warned ahead of Knicks parade
Fans are being warned to be on their best behavior.
Banned items at the parade include: Bags, glass or metal water bottles, bats/batons, bicycles or scooters, chairs or coolers.
There will also be no pets, backpacks, strollers, umbrellas or weapons.
It's going to be an interesting - and eventful - day across New York City, that's for sure. Celebrate safely, Knicks fans. You deserve it this year.
