Toronto Blue Jays RHP Dylan Cease has returned to his dominant form, and he looks to cash an NRFI against the San Francisco Giants. We also like the NRFI in the epic pitching matchup between the New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays. The Chicago Cubs and Baltimore Orioles are on the opposite end of that epic spectrum, and we like the YRFI there.

Best NRFI and YRFI Bets Today
Toronto Blue Jays at San Francisco Giants NRFI (-150)
Blue Jays RHP Dylan Cease is back. After a down year last year, he is 5-4 with a 2.79 ERA with a career-high 13.6 K/9. He has been decent with a 3.36 ERA in the first inning. The Giants throw ace RHP Logan Webb, who is 5-6 with a 3.66 ERA. He has been great in the first with a 2.40 ERA. We're tailing the NRFI in this one.
New York Yankees at Tampa Bay Rays NRFI (-105)
Yankees RHP Gerrit Cole has been a little rocky lately but is still 3-3 with a 4.01 ERA. He has been solid in the first with a 3.38 ERA. Facing off against him and the Yankees is Rays LHP Shane McClanahan at 7-5 with a 3.05 ERA. He has been great in the first, too, with a 2.81 ERA.
Chicago Cubs at Baltimore Orioles YRFI (-125)
This matchup provides a bit of "meh" on the mound. Cubs RHP Colin Rea is 6-5 with a 4.74 ERA. He has been decent in the first with a 3.21 ERA, but he doesn't miss a lot of bats. For the O's, RHP Dean Kremer is 1-1 with a 3.18 ERA in three starts. He has allowed two ER in three first frames for a 6.00 ERA. This combination with some solid lineups leads us to the YRFI.
What Does NRFI and YRFI Mean in Baseball?
The term NRFI indicates no runs scored in the first inning. Its opposite, YRFI, indicates yes, a run will be scored in the first inning. It doesn't matter if the run qualifies as an earned run or not. If a run crosses the plate in the first inning for either team, the wager loses for the NRFI side and wins for the YRFI side.
