New York Yankees All-Star Ben Rice has showcased light-tower power for the Bronx Bombers. He has a good matchup to help cash a YRFI against the Baltimore Orioles. We like the NRFI prospects in the Seattle Mariners and Milwaukee Brewers matchup. The Arizona Diamondbacks and Boston Red Sox also have the arms to keep things quiet in the first.
Wednesday’s action will begin at 12:35 p.m. ET, so get those wagers in early.

Best NRFI and YRFI Bets Today
New York Yankees at Baltimore Orioles YRFI (-140)
The Yankees turn to RHP Will Warren at 8-6 with a 4.42 ERA. He has been decent in the first with a 3.13 ERA, but he has allowed five homers. That’s the most he has allowed in any inning. RHP Chris Bassitt goes for Baltimore at 4-4 with a 5.11 ERA and a 1.62 WHIP. He returned from more than two months on the injured list on Aug. 14 and allowed two earned runs over 5 1/3 innings against Tampa Bay.
Seattle Mariners at Milwaukee Brewers NRFI (-150)
M’s RHP Logan Gilbert makes the start at 9-7 with a 3.28 ERA. He has been great over the last month with a 2.84 ERA. The first inning can be an adventure sometimes with a 4.88 ERA, but he has kept it clean in three straight turns. RHP Dustin May makes his third start for his new club. He has a 2.08 ERA and 11 K’s in 13 IP since coming over from the St. Louis Cardinals. His first-inning ERA is 5.56, but that doesn’t paint the entire portrait. He has kept it clean in seven straight starts.
Arizona Diamondbacks at Boston Red Sox NRFI (-125)
RHP Brandon Pfaadt goes for the D-Backs at 7-1 with a 3.11 ERA. He’s even better in the first with a 2.25 ERA. The Red Sox send 6-foot-6 LHP Payton Tolle to the hill at 8-6 with a 2.97 ERA. He’s solid to start the game with a 3.15 ERA and 22 K’s in 20 first frames.
What Do NRFI and YRFI Mean in Baseball?
The term NRFI indicates no runs scored in the first inning. Its opposite, YRFI, indicates yes, there will be a run in the first inning. It doesn’t matter if the run qualifies as an earned run or not. If a run crosses the plate in the first inning for either team, the wager loses for the NRFI side and wins for the YRFI side.
