Detroit Tigers ace LHP Tarik Skubal is a pending free agent and could be making one of his final starts for the Tigers as the MLB Trade Deadline looms. A team that could be a suitor for him is across the lines in the New York Yankees, and we like the NRFI there. The pitching matchup with the St. Louis Cardinals and Atlanta Braves leads us to a YRFI bet. We also like the NRFI in the Los Angeles Angels and Seattle Mariners matchup.
It's a typical Tuesday lineup, and there are no day games. Therefore, you'll have most of the afternoon to make your picks, but these are three we like for Tuesday.

Best NRFI and YRFI Bets Today
Detroit Tigers at New York Yankees NRFI (-150)
Tigers LHP Tarik Skubal is 3-4 with a 3.32 ERA on the season. The Yankees got to him in the first inning two starts ago as 1B Paul Goldschmidt took him deep twice in the game. He'll make the adjustment. RHP Cam Schlittler is 8-4 with a 1.62 ERA in a Skubal-esque campaign. He has been awesome in the first with a 0.53 ERA and 22 K's in 17 first frames.
St. Louis Cardinals at Atlanta Braves YRFI (-140)
Cards LHP Matthew Liberatore makes the start Tuesday, and he has been awful lately with a 10.34 ERA in four June starts. He has a 5.06 ERA in the first inning thus far. LHP Martin Perez goes for the Braves, and he's 6-4 with a 3.00 ERA. His ERA is a little higher in the first at 3.75. Perez has had issues in the first throughout his career with a 4.24 ERA. With all of that said, we like the YRFI here.
Los Angeles Angels at Seattle Mariners NRFI (-135)
Angels RHP Jose Soriano has been one of the few bright spots for the Halos at 8-4 with a 3.32 ERA. Through 17 starts, he has a 3.18 ERA in the first inning and 21 K's. Mariners RHP Bryan Woo is having a bit of a down year at 6-6 with a 4.26 ERA. He's a completely different pitcher at home, though, at 5-0 with a 2.86 ERA. He's 1-6 with a 6.38 ERA on the road. Overall, in the first, he's very good with a 3.38 ERA. We expect a couple of zeroes in the first in this one.
What Does NRFI and YRFI Mean in Baseball?
The term NRFI indicates no runs scored in the first inning. Its opposite, YRFI, indicates yes, a run will be scored in the first inning. It doesn't matter if the run qualifies as an earned run or not. If a run crosses the plate in the first inning for either team, the wager loses for the NRFI side and wins for the YRFI side.
