The Major League Baseball trade deadline has passed, and newly acquired Los Angeles Dodgers LHP Tarik Skubal looks to make a good first impression on his new team. He faces the Chicago Cubs in a good NRFI matchup. The Athletics and Cincinnati Reds look to get things crackin' early and cash a YRFI. The Pittsburgh Pirates and Milwaukee Brewers were two of the more active teams before the deadline, and they look to calm things down with an NRFI.
All games Tuesday begin in the evening, so there's no rush to bank on those winning tickets.

Los Angeles Dodgers at Chicago Cubs NRFI (-115)
The Dodgers' new toy, LHP Tarik Skubal, is set for his first start with the new club. He went 7-5 with a 2.79 ERA in 16 starts for the Tigers. He has a 3.38 ERA and 22 K's in 16 first frames this season. RHP Javier Assad goes for the Cubs at 6-1 with a 3.75 ERA. He has been money in the first with a 1.00 ERA and nine K's in nine first frames.
Athletics at Cincinnati Reds YRFI (-110)
The Athletics send RHP J.T. Ginn to the hill, who is 8-6 with a 3.46 ERA. It has been a struggle in the first with a 5.68 ERA. RHP Brady Singer goes for the Reds at 5-10 with a 4.35 ERA. It has been "meh" in the first with a 4.29 ERA. You add in the unfriendly confines of the Great American Ball Park to two pitchers with first-inning issues, and the YRFI is the way to go.
Pittsburgh Pirates at Milwaukee Brewers NRFI (-140)
The Pirates go with RHP Jared Jones, who has looked good in his return from UCL surgery. Jones is 2-2 with a 3.81 ERA. He has been nasty in the first with a 1.64 ERA and 20 K's in 11 frames. The Brew Crew go with RHP Logan Henderson at 5-1 with a 2.66 ERA. He has been awesome in the first as well with a 1.00 ERA and 16 K's in nine first innings.
What Do NRFI and YRFI Mean in Baseball?
The term NRFI indicates no runs scored in the first inning. Its opposite, YRFI, indicates yes, there will be a run in the first inning. It doesn't matter if the run qualifies as an earned run or not. If a run crosses the plate in the first inning for either team, the wager loses for the NRFI side and wins for the YRFI side.
