The Philadelphia Phillies send one of the NL's best starters to the hill in LHP Cristopher Sanchez. He's looking to cash an NRFI against the Washington Nationals. The metrics look good for a YRFI in the matchup between the Toronto Blue Jays and Texas Rangers. We also like the NRFI in the rivalry matchup between the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox.
It's an abbreviated menu for Thursday with just nine games. Three games will begin in the afternoon, so get those bets in early.

Best NRFI and YRFI Bets Today
Philadelphia Phillies at Washington Nationals NRFI (-125)
Phillies LHP Cristopher Sanchez has been dominant all season at 9-3 with a 1.80 ERA. He gets off to good starts with a 2.25 ERA in the first inning this season. Nationals RHP Cade Cavalli doesn't quite have the same resume as Sanchez at 4-4 with a 4.07 ERA. He has been good in the first, though, with a 2.81 ERA and 17 K's through 16 starts.
Texas Rangers at Toronto Blue Jays YRFI (+100)
Rangers LHP MacKenzie Gore is 4-6 with a 4.07 ERA on the season. The first inning has been a struggle with a 4.50 ERA. It's one of his worst innings. Blue Jays RHP Kevin Gausman is having a similar season at 4-5 with a 4.05 ERA with a strikeout an inning. Things get ugly in the first, though, with a 7.88 ERA. Opponents are hitting .281 off of him with seven walks. This one is primed to get the bases dirty early.
New York Yankees at Boston Red Sox NRFI (-xxx)
Yankees RHP Cam Schlittler continues dealing at 8-3 with a 1.71 ERA. He has 109 K's in 95 innings. That strikeout stuff begins as soon as he gets the ball with 21 K's and a 0.56 ERA in 16 first frames. Red Sox rookie LHP Connelly Early has had... early success at 6-5 with a 3.64 ERA. His first-inning numbers are so-so with a 4.20 ERA.
What Does NRFI and YRFI Mean in Baseball?
The term NRFI indicates no runs scored in the first inning. Its opposite, YRFI, indicates yes, a run will be scored in the first inning. It doesn't matter if the run qualifies as an earned run or not. If a run crosses the plate in the first inning for either team, the wager loses for the NRFI side and wins for the YRFI side.
