There is a lot to like about the YRFI in the matchup between the Athletics and Cincinnati Reds at a hitter-friendly ballpark.

New York Mets at Cleveland Guardians NRFI (-130)
The Mets send RHP Nolan McLean to the mound at 7-7 with a 3.29 ERA. He has been one of the few bright spots for the sinking ship that is the Metropolitans. He has started games off well with a 3.27 ERA and 27 K's in 22 first frames. Newly acquired LHP Foster Griffin takes the mound at 12-3 with a 3.06 ERA. He has been money in the first with a 2.05 ERA and 27 K's in 22 IP.
Minnesota Twins at Kansas City Royals NRFI (+105)
The Twins send RHP Bailey Ober, who's 7-3 with a 4.45 ERA. He locks in during the first inning with a 2.81 ERA. On the other side, RHP Michael Wacha was a popular name on the rumor mill before the trade deadline. He stayed with KC and sits at 5-8 with a 3.51 ERA. He had his moments in the first inning early on, but he has been great of late to get the ERA down to 3.27.
Athletics at Cincinnati Reds YRFI (-130)
The A's send RHP Mason Barnett to the mound for his second start after spending most of his season in the bullpen. He's 1-1 with a 4.85 ERA. He kept the first inning clean in his only start of the season, but this ballpark presents a stiff challenge. Speaking of such, it has been a challenging year for RHP Hunter Greene, who has struggled in his return from an elbow injury and landed on the IL, which means he'll miss this start. LHP Andrew Abbott takes the turn, and he has a 6.65 ERA in the first inning. Either way, we like the YRFI here.
What Do NRFI and YRFI Mean in Baseball?
The term NRFI indicates no runs scored in the first inning. Its opposite, YRFI, indicates yes, there will be a run in the first inning. It doesn't matter if the run qualifies as an earned run or not. If a run crosses the plate in the first inning for either team, the wager loses for the NRFI side and wins for the YRFI side.
