Milwaukee Brewers ace Jacob Misiorowski is the favorite for the NL Cy Young Award, and he and the New York Mets look to cash an NRFI. The Los Angeles Dodgers and Atlanta Braves have a great pitching matchup to cash another NRFI. Things could get ugly early in the matchup between the Colorado Rockies and Washington Nationals.

Best NRFI and YRFI Bets Today
Milwaukee Brewers at New York Mets NRFI (-145)
The Brew Crew goes with ace Jacob Misiorowski at 13-5 with a 1.68 ERA. Facing him in the first inning is like playing the Powerball. He has a 1.88 ERA and 47 K’s in 24 innings. The Mets send LHP Sean Manaea to the mound at 4-5 with a 4.31 ERA. He’s good in the first with a 3.46 ERA.
Los Angeles Dodgers at Atlanta Braves NRFI (-160)
In what is probably the best pitching matchup of the day, RHP Yoshinobu Yamamoto goes for the Dodgers at 12-7 with a 2.61 ERA. He has had some issues in the first, but he has been good of late. His ERA has gone down to 3.91 in the opening frame. If it weren’t for The Miz in Milwaukee, Braves LHP Chris Sale would probably be the front-runner for NL Cy Young. He’s 12-9 with a 2.20 ERA. Don’t even bother in the first as he has a 1.17 ERA and 28 K’s in 23 frames.
Colorado Rockies at Washington Nationals YRFI (-135)
The Rockies go with RHP Gabriel Hughes for the afternoon affair. He’s 0-5 with a 6.54 ERA, and it doesn’t get any better in the first with a 10.12 ERA. It has been a rough one for Nats RHP Jake Irvin, who’s 2-8 with a 5.82 ERA. He has been even more combustible in the first with a 7.88 ERA. This one could get messy in the first frame.
What Do NRFI and YRFI Mean in Baseball?
The term NRFI indicates no runs scored in the first inning. Its opposite, YRFI, indicates yes, there will be a run in the first inning. It doesn’t matter if the run qualifies as an earned run or not. If a run crosses the plate in the first inning for either team, the wager loses for the NRFI side and wins for the YRFI side.
