RHP Jose Soriano has been great since coming over to the Toronto Blue Jays. He has his sights set on an NRFI against the New York Yankees. The St. Louis Cardinals and Philadelphia Phillies also have a good matchup for an NRFI after numerous runs crossed the plate Saturday. The Athletics and Houston Astros have some high ERAs going with the potential for a YRFI.

Best NRFI and YRFI Bets Today
Toronto Blue Jays at New York Yankees NRFI (-125)
RHP Jose Soriano is 1-0 with a 2.76 ERA in three starts since coming over from the Los Angeles Angels. He’s 10-6 with a 3.23 ERA overall and a 2.16 ERA in the first inning. The Yanks turn to LHP Carlos Rodon at 4-2 with a 3.22 ERA. He has been even better in the first with a 2.70 ERA.
St. Louis Cardinals at Philadelphia Phillies NRFI (-135)
Cards RHP Kyle Leahy is 10-4 with a 3.24 ERA, and he has been one of the better starters in baseball since June 1. He does some of his best work in the first with a 2.25 ERA and 31 K’s in 24 innings. LHP Cristopher Sanchez goes for the Phils at 16-4 with a 2.51 ERA. He had a rough stretch, which blimped his first-inning ERA to 4.85. He has kept it clean in the first seven straight times.
Athletics at Houston Astros YRFI (-130)
RHP Jack Perkins goes for the A’s at 2-9 with a 6.96 ERA. He has a 12.27 ERA in the first inning, and hitters tattoo him to a .340 clip. RHP Cristian Javier goes for the ‘Stros at 1-4 with a 6.44 ERA. He actually has a 1.29 ERA in the first, but it all hits the fan after that. We’ll take our chances one of them serves it up in the first.
What Do NRFI and YRFI Mean in Baseball?
The term NRFI indicates no runs scored in the first inning. Its opposite, YRFI, indicates yes, there will be a run in the first inning. It doesn’t matter if the run qualifies as an earned run or not. If a run crosses the plate in the first inning for either team, the wager loses for the NRFI side and wins for the YRFI side.
