Los Angeles Dodgers LHP Tarik Skubal looks to make up for a so-so start last time out and cash an NRFI against the Milwaukee Brewers. The Boston Red Sox and Pittsburgh Pirates have their ducks in a row to cash an NRFI as well. For the Washington Nationals and New York Mets, a YRFI is in the air Sunday.
It’s a typical Sunday with mostly day games, and the action gets underway at 12:15 p.m. ET, so you need to get those winners in early.

Best NRFI and YRFI Bets Today
Milwaukee Brewers at Los Angeles Dodgers NRFI (-145)
The Brew Crew sends RHP Logan Henderson to the mound at 6-2 with a 2.88 ERA. He pitched well against the Dodgers in May with five innings of shutout ball and seven K's. He has allowed just one earned run in the first this season for a 0.82 ERA. Dodgers trade-deadline acquisition Tarik Skubal is 7-6 with a 2.93 ERA on the season. He got scored on in the first in a meh start last time out, but he still has a 3.50 ERA with 23 K's in 18 first frames.
Boston Red Sox at Pittsburgh Pirates NRFI (-140)
LHP Patrick Sandoval goes for the Red Sox at 1-1 with a 3.30 ERA. Sandoval has yet to be scored on in the first through six starts. The Bucs send RHP Paul Skenes to the mound at 9-11 with a 3.88 ERA. That's not the type of excellence you expect from their ace, who has a 4.74 ERA in the first. A lot of that damage was done in the season opener, and he has kept the first clean in five of his last six starts.
Washington Nationals at New York Mets YRFI (-105)
The Nats start RHP Jake Irvin, who is 2-6 with a 5.79 ERA. He has allowed 12 ER in 14 first frames for a ugly 7.71 ERA. The Mets send RHP Christian Scott to the rubber. He has been one of the few bright spots in an ugly 2026. Scott is 3-3 with a 3.45 ERA. However, Scott has had some issues in the first inning with a 4.24 ERA. We could see sparks fly early in this one.
What Do NRFI and YRFI Mean in Baseball?
The term NRFI indicates no runs scored in the first inning. Its opposite, YRFI, indicates yes, there will be a run in the first inning. It doesn't matter if the run qualifies as an earned run or not. If a run crosses the plate in the first inning for either team, the wager loses for the NRFI side and wins for the YRFI side.
