Chicago White Sox at Baltimore Orioles YRFI (-110)
White Sox RHP Sean Burke is 5-4 with a 3.71 ERA on the season. When it comes to the first, though, his ERA balloons to 6.00. Orioles RHP Shane Baz is 4-8 with a 4.31 ERA. He has had a myriad of issues with the first inning. His ERA sits at 6.75 in the opening frame. He relies on his fastball, which leads to a lot of homers. He has allowed three in the first thus far.
Pittsburgh Pirates at Philadelphia Phillies NRFI (+105)
Pirates up-and-coming RHP Braxton Ashcraft is 7-3 with a 3.07 ERA. He has been a monster in the first with a 1.69 ERA and 21 K's in 16 frames. Opposing him is struggling RHP Aaron Nola, who sits at 3-4 with a 5.58 ERA. He has been decent in the first, though, with a 3.38 ERA. They should keep it clean in the first.
What Does NRFI and YRFI Mean in Baseball?
The term NRFI indicates no runs scored in the first inning. Its opposite, YRFI, indicates yes, a run will be scored in the first inning. It doesn't matter if the run qualifies as an earned run or not. If a run crosses the plate in the first inning for either team, the wager loses for the NRFI side and wins for the YRFI side.
