Rays RHP Nick Martinez is having a career year at 8-2 with a 2.65 ERA. He has a sparkling 1.00 ERA in the first inning this season. He'll face All-Star RHP Dylan Cease, who is 6-4 with a 2.56 ERA. He has a 3.18 ERA and 27 K's in 17 first frames. He also threw a clean first inning in the All-Star Game.
New York Mets at Milwaukee Brewers NRFI (-140)
Mets RHP Freddy Peralta draws the start at 5-8 with a 4.66 ERA. He's solid in the first, though, with a 2.70 ERA and 27 K's in 20 first frames. Brewers RHP Jacob Misiorowski makes his first start in nearly two weeks after shutting it down early in the first half due to arm fatigue. He's 10-4 with a 1.62 ERA and has been nearly unhittable. He has a 2.50 ERA and 34 K's in 18 first frames.
What Does NRFI and YRFI Mean in Baseball?
The term NRFI indicates no runs scored in the first inning. Its opposite, YRFI, indicates yes, a run will be scored in the first inning. It doesn't matter if the run qualifies as an earned run or not. If a run crosses the plate in the first inning for either team, the wager loses for the NRFI side and wins for the YRFI side.
