New York Yankees All-Star RHP Cam Schlittler has all the ingredients to do his part in an NRFI recipe against the St. Louis Cardinals. The San Francisco Giants and Texas Rangers have a matchup that looks promising for the NRFI. In the matchup featuring the Toronto Blue Jays and Houston Astros, sparks could fly early toward a YRFI.
It's MLB Trade Deadline Day, and it's a lighter day with only eight games Monday. All games begin in the evening, which means there's plenty of time to lock in those winners.

Best NRFI and YRFI Bets Today
St. Louis Cardinals at New York Yankees NRFI (-120)
The Cards go with RHP Michael McGreevy, who is 4-9 with a 3.57 ERA. He has been great in the first inning all season with a 2.14 ERA. Yankees RHP Cam Schlittler has been dominant all season at 10-6 with a 2.04 ERA. His first-inning numbers are solid with a 2.74 ERA and 32 K's in 23 frames. This one should remain clean in the first.
San Francisco Giants at Texas Rangers NRFI (-135)
The Giants send RHP Logan Webb to the mound at 6-7 with a 3.93 ERA. He has a 4.74 ERA in the first inning, but a lot of it came in infrequent implosions. He has kept it clean in two of three starts. On the other side, Rangers RHP Cal Quantrill is quietly having a good season at 4-3 with a 3.84 ERA. His ERA in the first inning is a solid 3.00. The NRFI has the upside here.
Toronto Blue Jays at Houston Astros YRFI (-140)
The Jays send RHP Shane Bieber to the mound, and it has been a rough one returning from injury. He's 2-2 with a 5.74 ERA, and his first-inning ERA is 10.80. RHP Cristian Javier is going through it as well at 1-1 with a 7.17 ERA. His first inning has been fine at a 2.25 ERA, but every other inning is a mess. The YRFI is the way to go here.
What Do NRFI and YRFI Mean in Baseball?
The term NRFI indicates no runs scored in the first inning. Its opposite, YRFI, indicates yes, there will be a run in the first inning. It doesn't matter if the run qualifies as an earned run or not. If a run crosses the plate in the first inning for either team, the wager loses for the NRFI side and wins for the YRFI side.
