Kansas City Royals at Los Angeles Dodgers NRFI (-125)
The Kansas City Royals send LHP Noah Cameron to the hill at 6-8 with a 4.37 ERA. He's great in the first with a 1.71 ERA. In this matchup of lefties, LHP Tarik Skubal makes his second start for the Dodgers. He's 7-6 with a 2.81 ERA on the season. Skubal had some issues in the first early in the season, but he has been great of late with a 3.18 ERA. He has kept the first inning clean in his last six starts.
Milwaukee Brewers at San Diego Padres NRFI (-145)
RHP Logan Henderson goes for the Brew Crew, and he's 6-1 with a 2.70 ERA. He's great in the first inning with a 0.90 ERA and 18 K's in 10 frames. RHP Casey Mize makes his second start with his new club after an eventful debut, giving up eight runs. None of them came in the first, and he remains unscored upon in 17 first frames.
Texas Rangers at Los Angeles Angels YRFI (+100)
The Rangers send LHP MacKenzie Gore to the mound at 6-9 with a 4.55 ERA. His ERA is consistent with that in the first inning at 4.50. LHP Reid Detmers makes the start for the Halos at 3-8 with a 4.12 ERA. His first-inning ERA is 4.30, and this matchup looks like the YRFI is the way to go.
What Do NRFI and YRFI Mean in Baseball?
The term NRFI indicates no runs scored in the first inning. Its opposite, YRFI, indicates yes, there will be a run in the first inning. It doesn't matter if the run qualifies as an earned run or not. If a run crosses the plate in the first inning for either team, the wager loses for the NRFI side and wins for the YRFI side.
