Best NRFI and YRFI Bets Today

Toronto Blue Jays at Seattle Mariners YRFI (+110)

Blue Jays RHP Dylan Cease has turned his season around at 4-4 with a 3.02 ERA. You can get to him in the first, though, as the .254 opponents' batting average is the second-highest BA of any inning. He has a 3.60 ERA in the first frame, but he has been scored upon in the opening frame in his last two starts. Mariners RHP Luis Castillo is 3-6 with a 4.93 ERA as he looks to be on the decline as he nears 34 years old. He got scored upon in the first in his last outing and has a 3.46 ERA in the frame on the season.

San Francisco Giants at Colorado Rockies NRFI (+105)

The Giants send their ace RHP Logan Webb to the hill. He's 5-5 with a 3.09 ERA on the season, and he's 4-2 with a 4.21 ERA in 11 career starts in Coors. When it comes to the first, he locks in early with a 0.64 ERA. For the Rockies, RHP Ryan Feltner is 2-2 with a 4.42 ERA, and he has just a 2.25 ERA in his last two starts. He has been decent in the first with a 3.27 ERA, despite pitching half his games in the thin Colorado air.

Tampa Bay Rays at Houston Astros NRFI (+100)

Rays RHP Nick Martinez is having a career season at 7-2 with a 2.66 ERA. He has been lights out in the first with a 1.12 ERA this season. For the 'Stros, RHP Spencer Arrighetti is 7-4 with a 4.00 ERA. He has been bravo in the first inning with a 2.08 ERA and a .188 batting average against. Hitters shouldn't expect too many meatballs early in this one.

What Does NRFI and YRFI Mean in Baseball?

The term NRFI indicates no runs scored in the first inning. Its opposite, YRFI, indicates yes, a run will be scored in the first inning. It doesn't matter if the run qualifies as an earned run or not. If a run crosses the plate in the first inning for either team, the wager loses for the NRFI side and wins for the YRFI side.
