We also like the NRFI in the New York Yankees-Philadelphia Phillies game. Our lone YRFI is in the matchup featuring the Arizona Diamondbacks and Washington Nationals.

Best NRFI and YRFI Bets Today
Kansas City Royals at Detroit Tigers NRFI (-130)
Royals RHP Beck Way is 1-0 with a 3.22 ERA in relief appearances on the season, so the sample size is quite small at 22.1 IP. Tigers LHP Tarik Skubal isn't all the way back to his Cy Young form, but he's getting there. He's 6-5 with a 2.83 ERA. He's 2-1 with a 1.59 ERA in three July starts. He has a 3.86 ERA in the first inning, but that was inflated by a couple of rough ones.
New York Yankees at Philadelphia Phillies NRFI (-125)
The Yanks send RHP Will Warren to the mound at 9-6 with a 2.20 ERA. He has been solid in the first with a 3.00 ERA and 28 K's in 21 IP. RHP Jesus Luzardo goes for the Phils at 9-4 with a 3.43 ERA. He has been unhittable in the first inning with a .118 batting average against and no ER in 20 frames. Look for these potent offenses to remain quiet early on.
Arizona Diamondbacks at Washington Nationals YRFI (-130)
The D-Backs send LHP Eduardo Rodriguez to the hill at 8-3 with a 2.62 ERA. Looks can be deceiving, though, as he has a 5.40 ERA in the first inning. For the Nats, LHP Carson Palmquist makes the start at 0-1 with an ugly 8.74 ERA. He has not been a fan of the first inning, allowing a pair of runs in four opening frames this year. Look for the sparks to fly early.
What Does NRFI and YRFI Mean in Baseball?
The term NRFI indicates no runs scored in the first inning. Its opposite, YRFI, indicates yes, a run will be scored in the first inning. It doesn't matter if the run qualifies as an earned run or not. If a run crosses the plate in the first inning for either team, the wager loses for the NRFI side and wins for the YRFI side.
