Philadelphia Phillies RHP Zack Wheeler has been pitching like someone owes him money all season. He looks to cash an NRFI with RHP Jose Soriano making his debut with the Toronto Blue Jays on the other side. The Atlanta Braves and New York Yankees have a couple of stud lefties looking to cash an NRFI. The matchup between the Athletics and Boston Red Sox looks to cash a YRFI with a pitching matchup that did just that July 27.
Friday's action will begin at 6:40 p.m. ET, which means you'll have some time to pick your winners.

Best NRFI and YRFI Bets Today
Toronto Blue Jays at Philadelphia Phillies NRFI (-120)
The Blue Jays send newly acquired RHP Jose Soriano to the mound following an extended layoff while the Angels awaited the trade deadline. He went 9-6 with a 3.29 ERA with the Los Angeles Angels. He has had little trouble in the first with a 2.45 ERA and 25 K's in 22 first frames. RHP Zack Wheeler has been dealing all season at 10-2 with a 2.49 ERA for the Phils. He has a 2.00 ERA and 26 K's in 18 first frames this season.
Atlanta Braves at New York Yankees NRFI (-115)
Newly acquired Braves RHP Tyler Mahle makes his debut with the club at 3-9 with a 5.13 ERA. His 6.00 first-inning ERA creates some concern, but he kept the opening frame clean in three of his final four starts with the Giants. Yankees LHP Max Fried faces his former team at 4-3 with a 3.12 ERA and a career-best 0.99 WHIP. His 4.85 first-inning ERA is also a little troublesome, though opponents are hitting just .239 against him with 16 K’s in 13 first frames. The recent improvement from Mahle and Fried’s overall command give the NRFI enough upside.
Athletics at Boston Red Sox YRFI (-110)
The A's go with RHP Jack Perkins at 2-7 with a 6.72 ERA. He has allowed 15 ER over nine first frames. Over the last four games he has started, he has allowed runs in the opening frame in three of them. Perkins and Friday's starter for the Red Sox were the pitching matchup July 27 that struck a YRFI. LHP Payton Tolle goes for the Red Sox, and he's 6-6 with a 3.30 ERA. He has a 3.50 ERA in the first this season, but he has succumbed in three of four starts.
What Do NRFI and YRFI Mean in Baseball?
The term NRFI indicates no runs scored in the first inning. Its opposite, YRFI, indicates yes, there will be a run in the first inning. It doesn't matter if the run qualifies as an earned run or not. If a run crosses the plate in the first inning for either team, the wager loses for the NRFI side and wins for the YRFI side.
