The 2026 FIFA Men's World Cup has been thrilling from the start, but we're not getting a ton of excitement at the finish.
Argentina and Spain were tied, 0-0, after 90-plus minutes of play at the FIFA Men's World Cup Final in New Jersey on Sunday. Spain created some scoring opportunities, especially late, but couldn't convert. Argentina, meanwhile, was unable to produce anything of substance in the first 90 minutes.
While many non-soccer fans have been overjoyed by the quality of play during the 2026 World Cup - big goals and big moments from most of the top countries and players - they're pretty bored watching this final.

Fans sound off on 'boring' World Cup Final Sunday
"Guys I'm sorry, I know people around the world love soccer, but is this not the most boring thing ever? I've watched every second of this game & it's just guys flopping 20x worse than the NBA & a whole lot of nothing. Am I missing something?" one fan wrote.
"Having a super boring World Cup final is the best way to get America to turn off soccer, just when it seemed like it was getting somewhere," one fan added.
"Soccer keeps proving why it’s the most boring sport in the world," one fan added.
Even longtime college football writer Ari Wasserman got in on the action, criticizing the boring game.
