The Seattle Seahawks are about to kick off their 2026 season. This season will begin the same way the 2025 season ended, with the Seahawks taking on the New England Patriots.

The Seahawks have big expectations for this season, and the hope is that they can repeat as champions. Getting off to a strong start will be key, and the Patriots won’t be an easy opponent.

For the most part, the Seahawks stayed healthy this summer, but there are some injury situations to take note of. The first injury report is out for the Week 1 opener, so let’s go over what it means for the Seahawks.

Seahawks Injury Report

The first report shows that the Seahawks have several more players currently dealing with injuries than the Patriots do. Here’s what the Seahawks are dealing with on Monday:

  • A.J. Barner- Oblique- Full Participation
  • Anthony Bradford- Knee- Limited Participation
  • Nick Emmanwori- Ankle- Limited Participation
  • Tory Horton- Hamstring- Limited Participation
  • Josh Jones- Knee- Limited Participation
  • Julian Neal- Quadriceps- Full Participation
  • Ty Okada– Hamstring- Did Not Participate
  • Emanuel Wilson- Hamstring- Full Participation

The most concerning listing here is Okada. The starting safety was unable to practice on Monday, which is probably a very bad sign for his chance to play on Wednesday night.

Emmanwori was also a limited participant, which means two of the team’s three safeties on the roster could end up missing this contest. That’s concerning, and it explains why the Seahawks just brought D’Anthony Bell back to the practice squad.

Now, the Seahawks have four safeties on the practice squad, so it won’t be surprising if a few of them get elevated for the season opener.

Elsewhere, it seems like Barner, Neal, and Wilson are on pace to play. The Seahawks will likely turn to rookie Beau Stephens to start instead of Bradford if he can’t go.

It will be interesting to see if there are any developments over the next 24 hours. Emmanwori and Okada are crucial pieces of the defense, and playing without either would be tough.
