There were a lot of concerns about the playing surface for Sunday’s Dallas Cowboys vs. Baltimore Ravens game in Brazil.
It turns out that maybe there should have been just as much concern about the officiating crew in South America.
The Ravens are leading the Cowboys, 14-10, early in the second quarter on Sunday. However, the Ravens have benefited from at least one highly questionable call early on in the game.
In what world should this be called pass interference on Cowboys defensive back DaRon Bland?
NFL fans are roasting the Cowboys vs. Ravens officiating crew
“Cowboys called for pass interference on this. Zay Flowers initiated contact and then slipped,” one fan wrote.
“The referees are helping the Baltimore Ravens with 2 pass interference calls against The Dallas Cowboys,” one fan added.
“Bad call on bland should have been offensive pass interference,” one fan added.
“These refs are absolutely brutal,” one fan added.
“Potentially the worst pass interference I’ve ever seen that ref should be arrested,” one fan added.
“That was an awful pass interference call, that should’ve been OPI on Zay Flowers!” one fan added.
Pass interference calls always seem to be a bit biased toward the offense. The defense gets absolutely no benefit of the doubt in situations like this, and the Cowboys were the victim on Sunday afternoon.
It’s early, but if the Ravens hold on in a close game against the Cowboys, Dallas fans will surely be pointing to some of these early pass interference penalties that happened in the first half.
The Cowboys vs. Ravens Week 3 NFL regular season game is airing live on CBS on Sundya afternoon.
It’s a big game for both teams, as they each came into the game at 1-1 on the season.
