The Kansas City Chiefs moved up one spot in ESPN’s NFL Power Rankings from No. 8 to No. 4. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes used precision, going 20-for-24 for 246 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. The picked-off pass wasn’t completely his fault as the receiver tipped the ball in the air as they were falling to the ground, and it went into the defender’s arms. It snapped a string where Mahomes was 11-for-11 for 131 yards and a touchdown.
Mahomes keyed in on wide receiver Rashee Rice, who caught seven of nine targets for 88 yards. Tight end Travis Kelce caught two balls for 59 yards and scored a touchdown for the second straight game.
Running back Kenneth Walker continued to be the workhorse, running 18 times for 70 yards and a touchdown. He added another touchdown through the air. Walker is the first player in franchise history to have two games with a rushing and receiving touchdown within the first three weeks, per ESPN Research. Walker has four total touchdowns and 76 touches in three games. K-9 leads the NFL with 360 rushing yards.
