Julian Edelman made a name for himself as one of the best wide receivers during his playing career. He also spoke his mind on and off the field, a quality that endeared him to New England Patriots fans.
The three-time Super Bowl champion spent his entire 12-year professional career with the franchise. He teamed up with Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski, playing a key role in the Patriots' dynasty. Edelman entered the NFL as the No. 232 pick in the seventh round in 2009 but outperformed his draft status.
He currently remains around the league, co-hosting the "Dudes on Dudes with Gronk and Jules" podcast with Gronkowski. Edelman also enjoys watching other sports and vocally praises athletes from around the world.

Edelman has been impressed with Erling Haaland in this year's FIFA World Cup. He spoke highly of the Norwegian striker, calling him the "European Gen-Z Gronk."
The NFL posted a graphic of his comments on Instagram, along with its reaction to Edelman's comments.
"this is spot on, @edelman11 😂," the NFL wrote.
Haaland and Gronkowski are both tall, with the soccer superstar standing at 6-foot-5. The retired tight end, on the other hand, measures 6-foot-6, which he utilized to his advantage during his playing days.
Their towering presence created mismatches for opposing defenses and made them hard to stop. Gronkowski established himself as an all-time great by winning four Super Bowls and earning five Pro Bowl selections. He played all but two seasons of his career with New England.
Norway is through to the quarterfinals of the tournament and will next face England. The match is set for Saturday at the sold-out Miami Stadium. Haaland has scored seven goals so far and is in contention to win the Golden Boot. He trails Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe by one goal, with a game in hand.
