Tom Brady had a rough Tuesday night. The NFL legend cheered for the Las Vegas Aces during the 2026 WNBA Commissioner's Cup Championship at Barclays Center. He watched his team fall to the New York Liberty, 93-85.
Brady attended the game to support the team he co-owns, having bought a stake in the franchise back in 2023. He sat courtside next to fellow Aces co-owner Mark Davis, who also owns the Las Vegas Raiders in the NFL.
Las Vegas played at a major disadvantage without its superstar A'ja Wilson. The 29-year-old was sidelined by a right leg injury after rolling her ankle on Sunday against the Chicago Sky.
Jackie Young picked up the slack, scoring a game-high 31 points on 12-of-21 shooting. She also notched seven assists, two rebounds and two steals in the losing effort.
Brady watched Sabrina Ionescu torch his team from deep. She scored a team-high 26 points and drained five three-pointers to go along with five rebounds and five assists.
Fellow All-Star Breanna Stewart matched her impact with a double-double, posting 25 points and 11 rebounds to earn MVP honors.
New York became the first franchise to win the Commissioner's Cup twice. They also beat the Aces for the title back in 2023.
Despite the loss, Las Vegas sits at 14-5 this season. They currently hold second place in the West behind the Minnesota Lynx.
The Cup slipped away for Brady’s Aces. However, despite the unwanted setback, they still have plenty of season left to make up for it.
