Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs got off to a hot 3-0 start, and NFL legend Tom Brady has a good idea of why they have gone undefeated to this point in the season.
The Chiefs started the campaign with a 31-10 statement win over AFC West rivals Denver Broncos. Mahomes and company then secured a narrow 33-30 victory over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 2 and a 24-10 dub against the Miami Dolphins in Week 3.
In his latest NFL Power Rankings, Brady ranked the Chiefs at No. 2, behind only the San Francisco 49ers, and explained a key factor in their early-season success.
“I think what serves every team well is when you have continuity,” Brady stated. “When you have continuity at head coach, quarterback, GM and defensive coordinator, so many of the culture drivers that the Chiefs have, they’re on their stuff. They can solve problems quickly. There’s so much variation on offense.”

Another factor that Brady highlighted is running back Kenneth Walker III and how he has improved Kansas City’s offense this season.
“And because K9 (Kenneth Walker) is doing so much for them, the passing game doesn’t need to be what it was five or six years ago,” Brady added. “They can win a balanced game. They can win defensively. That’s a tough team to beat.”
In three games this season, Walker has recorded 360 rushing yards and two touchdowns on the ground for the Chiefs. His presence has also given Patrick Mahomes another reliable weapon on offense alongside tight end Travis Kelce, as he has caught 11 passes for 82 yards and two touchdowns.
Kansas City’s flawless record will be put to the test against the Las Vegas Raiders, a team with a similar 3-0 win-loss tally. Their Week 4 game is set for Sunday at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
