Former Los Angeles Rams star Aaron Donald continues to flirt with the idea of him coming out of retirement.
Donald, 35, retired from the NFL after an incredible 10-year run with the Rams. The three-time Defensive Player of the Year had 543 tackles, 260 QB hits, 111 sacks and 24 forced fumbles during his career.
After the Rams acquired Myles Garrett in a trade with the Cleveland Browns, Donald revealed that he's interested in a return to the gridiron.
“I’m for sure flirting with the idea,” Donald texted NFL insider Jordan Schultz. “Helluva an opportunity with the Super Bowl in SoFi this year. If I can find the fire, it’s a possibility.”

Donald's recent social media activity would suggest that he's serious about making a comeback. Earlier this week, ClutchPoints shared a photo of Donald posing with two Super Bowl rings.
"The thought of pairing Garrett’s unstoppable edge presence with Donald’s historic interior dominance is turning a hypothetical dream line into a reality," ClutchPoints wrote for its caption. "While the ink isn't dry yet, league insiders report that the chance to chase another Super Bowl ring alongside Garrett has Donald seriously preparing for a monumental training camp return. Putting them on the exact same defensive line feels completely unfair to every offensive coordinator and quarterback in the league."
Interestingly enough, Donald responded to this post with the wide eyes emoji.

The Rams would welcome him back.
When the Rams officially introduced Garrett to the media earlier this offseason, Sean McVay was asked about Donald potentially coming out of retirement.
“Here’s what I would tell you guys overall, too: Aaron is a guy that I stay really close in touch with, and I know the respect that he has for Myles,” McVay said, Pro Football Talk. “Talked to him about the opportunity to bring [Garrett] on board. If Aaron decides he wants to dust ‘em off at the age of 35, I bet you he can still do it at a pretty high clip.”
It sure sounds like McVay would welcome Donald back with open arms. After all, the 10-time Pro Bowler is still in great shape.
