The Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles are going to be a combined 4-8 heading into their Monday Night Football clash in six days. For NFL fans hoping to see some good football next week, that’s unacceptable.
The past two games have been downright brutal for both teams. The Cowboys got blown out at home against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers two Thursdays ago and followed that up with an anemic showing on offense this past Sunday.
As for the Eagles, they’re in full-on panic mode with star QB Jalen Hurts now. He has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a case of deep vein thrombosis – a serious and sometimes life-threatening blood clotting condition. Tanner McKee was named the starter against the Carolina Panthers and struggled.
Now that these two struggling teams are going head-to-head, fans have one request: Flex the game out of primetime or move the channel.
“@PBS how do we feel about airing this? It’ll be interesting to watch trash have a conflict with trash,” one user on X wrote.
“I was gonna say ‘somebody gotta win’ but unfortunately we’ve seen with this division that it is somehow not always the case,” wrote another.
“Nah put that (expletive) on Cartoon Network man,” a third wrote.
“They can’t flex this? Like to Sunday at some bs hour?”

Too little, too late.
Unfortunately, it’s a little too late for the NFL to flex out this particular game. There are others that the league can try to move around over the next few days, but there’s simply too little notice to change the date and time right now.
And even if the NFL didn’t want to put the game on primetime for competitive reasons, the fact of the matter is that the Eagles and Cowboys are still the Eagles and Cowboys – two of the most popular and diehard fan bases in the league. Even in a bad year, the NFL can count on those teams to deliver big numbers in primetime.
