Could we see Tom Brady eventually leave the world of sports behind to pursue a career in politics? Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk discussed that possibility on Thursday morning.
Brady had an incredible run in the NFL, throwing for 89,214 yards with 649 touchdowns and 212 interceptions. The seven-time Super Bowl champion is undoubtedly going to be a first-ballot Hall of Famer once he's eligible for a spot in Canton, Ohio.
Somehow, Brady's post-NFL career just keeps getting more and more hectic. In addition to being a color commentator for Fox Sports, he's a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders. As if he didn't have enough on his plate, he's flirting with the idea of him competing in the WWE.
“I need to get an invite. I’ve been waiting for [WWE president] Nick Khan to come up with some storyline for me to get in the mix,” Brady said at Fanatics Fest. “I feel like I’m retired from football, and I have an opportunity to go out there, still showcase that I’m a little bit of an athlete.”

Brady has slowly but surely teased a feud with WWE superstar Logan Paul. While it appears to be harmless, Florio wonders if the legendary quarterback is gearing up for a run at the White House.
"Not long ago, the idea of someone with no experience in politics running for the highest U.S. political office would have been dismissed as lunacy. After eleven years of lunacy come to life, it’s a new path to power," Florio wrote. "Why spin your wheels in the House or the Senate when you can leverage fame and notoriety into an instant political base? Brady looks good (regardless of whether there are any pharmaceutical, of follicular, enhancements), he speaks better than he used to, he’s rich and getting richer all the time. He craves competition (and some would say attention), which could make the political arena the perfect spot for the Man in the Arena."
NFL fans aren't buying it.
After Florio released an article about Brady's future in politics, countless NFL fans ripped him for jumping to conclusions.
"I doubt a political run is his endgame," one fan commented. "I think he’s collecting checks for as much as he can squirm out of people so that he can in fact buy a bigger piece of an NFL team, eventually parlaying each paycheck he can stack into a majority stake."
"This is one of the dumbest things Florio has written and that says a lot," a second fan wrote. "Maybe Brady was a wrestling fan as a kid and is having fun."
"It's pretty obvious he's collecting money from every outlet possible to eventually become majority owner," another fan said.
"We get it, Mike. You don’t like wrestling & think it’s a joke," a social media user replied. "Let him secure a SummerSlam bag and tell a story with Logan Paul."
Only time will tell if Florio was right. For now though, it seems like Brady is just trying new things at the age of 48.
