The National Football League hit New England Patriots wide receiver Mack Hollins with a double punishment this week.
Hollins, a veteran wide receiver, was hit with a rare double fine from the National Football League. Hollins was fined twice for the same play. It’s an extreme rarity in the National Football League – getting fined twice for the same play – but it happened to the veteran wide receiver.
The Patriots wide receiver ended up getting fined a total of $34,441 for his actions on the same play against the Jaguars.
“Hollins was docked $11,941 for taunting and $22,500 for unnecessary roughness involving his helmet. With 13:32 left in the fourth quarter, Hollins caught a 9-yard pass on third-and-10. Officials threw a flag for taunting after he gestured toward Jaguars safety Eric Murray. He was not penalized for illegal use of the helmet,” Mike Florio shared.
Hollins had a big day otherwise, totaling 87 yards on six catches, leading the way for the Patriots team.

This is not Hollins’ first double-fine, unfortunately
Hollins, unfortunately, is used to this.
The veteran New England Patriots wide receiver was fined twice for the same thing in 2025. He was fined $11,255 for stepping over cornerback Patrick Surtain and $6,736 for standing over receiver Marvin Mims during a January 2025 game against the Denver Broncos.
They’re costly mistakes, obviously, as fines can add up. The Patriots wide receiver is surely disappointed by it.
