Colin Cowherd's co-host, Jason McIntyre, is trending on social media for the wrong reasons this week.
McIntyre, who started The Big Lead in 2006, joined FOX Sports Radio in September 2015. He spent years as a contributor on various shows before getting a chance to become Cowherd's co-host on "The Herd." While an argument can be made that he brings interesting sports takes to the show, he did a poor job filling in for Cowherd on Thursday.
During a segment about the Pittsburgh Steelers, the FS1 personality suggested Ben Roethlisberger's criticism of Mike Tomlin could be due to a racial element. No, we're not kidding.
"I don’t know if Big Ben started it, but I’ll ask. Willie, do you think there’s a racial element to this?" McIntyre asked.
Former Steelers offensive lineman and FOX Sports analyst Willie Colon was baffled by McIntyre's question.
"No, that’s nonsense," Colon replied. "I don’t even know what that component would be; you would have to help me. I wouldn’t know how to connect those dots."

Although a change isn't imminent at this time, NFL fans are pushing for Cowherd to replace McIntyre as his co-host.
"Jason McIntyre is terrible and shouldn’t have a job," one fan wrote on X. "Fire him and keep [John] Middlekauff."
"Jason McIntyre is foolish," a second fan said. "Why Colin Cowherd keeps him in his show is beyond me."
"It's time for Colin Cowherd to give Jason an opportunity to go out on his own. Speed up his exit," another fan said.
Rough week for McIntyre.
Obviously, the "racial element" question that McIntyre asked this Thursday wasn't a good look for him or FS1's show. To make matters worse, it's his second blunder of the week.
During Wednesday's episode of "The Herd," McIntyre made a mistake while talking about Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans.
“Mike Evans, unbelievable career in Tampa, one of the best receivers in the league. This guy’s had 11 straight seasons with 1,000 yards. He’s still very good. He’s not like still a top-5, I don’t know about top-10 anymore. But he’s still very good. I think he could help a contender," McIntyre said. "... So, some people are gonna be like, ‘well, I don’t know if I want Mike Evans.' Listen, he’s gonna be motivated to chase a Super Bowl. Hasn’t sniffed one in Tampa."
Evans won a Super Bowl ring with the Buccaneers during the 2020 season. If he's going to go "ring chasing" this offseason, it'll be for his second Lombardi Trophy, not his first.
